Fræbbblarnir were formed in Iceland in 1978 and released a number of punk-pop records inspired by the early punk and New Wave scene as well as 1960s bands like The Kinks. The group officially disbanded in 1983 but continued playing on and off under various names until re-forming as a band in 1996. They are still active. I contacted the iconic Icelandic Punk Museum (Pönksafn) to obtain the lyrics to “Washington,” and within a day they reached out to lead singer Valgarður Guðjónsson (Valli), who kindly sent them along with his regards.
